DIY Business Cards: Tools for Cutting Thick Cardstock !!!

DIY Business Cards: Tools for Cutting Thick Cardstock !!!
hate me from hayneedle.com with the video about
different tools you can use to make your own really heavyweight
business cards before you click the back button because you think this is just DIY Business Cards: Tools for Cutting Thick Cardstock !!! like a scrapbooking
tool video I want to show you when I was able to do
with some of these tools here's really it piece of leather
and I cut this out with a
died that I'm going to show you I also cut out this crime
board in business card size and that's pretty heavy duty
if you don't know french borders by Tim Holtz you
print 4x6 photos online probably recognize it as like gasket material
cut that out with my big shot piece leather
I cut out this with
is a6 dying clear acetate in pretty heavy duty material
obviously you can punch out some pretty heavy duty cardboard was so many things
I'm gonna show you
I'm punched punch out a business card and fun for me if you want heavy-duty
chip the word
this is kind of a credit card size it's actually ATC size
and missus some really heavy duty plastic
I put this out you know what does three-ring binders that have that covers
that are kinda bendy like this that's what
this is made from mainly I wanted to show you those things
because when you see something like this big shot
don't let this for you with pink candle
flowers this is no little girly scrapbooking
tool this is a serious crafting

and this is what I've used to put out a thick piece a letter like this
the dice the that you put through these it takes all kinds
dies the skinny little way for tyson stuff but the thing I used cut out
heavy duty stuff is always these cake
guys this one fell to the ground but it still works just fine but you can see it
has a metal
kinda a metal cutting and then when you put it through this thing
the phone depresses and metal die pops up
in cuts through pretty much anything you wanna put through their I want to show
you what dies I found that were useful
for cutting shapes close to a business card size
unfortunately I have not found
die that is exactly a business card size but
I would say that this is pretty not close I'm also gonna show you what
manual punches
I found that will do the job and I'm some other what surprised you
I know this looks like a toy but this one is made by my reach
you she icon on Amazon some the good ones up these conscious
can cut through some really pretty heavy duty material
however if you go too far you can can mess it up in you have to do a lot of
tweaking to get back in line
so don't go crazy with these this is from the speak a success and its two
inches in diameter
if you have kind of girly product ordered
blog those are nice these are from the manual
punch this is a six-time which i think is really cute and this is this is it
is eat 'em holiday tasted I now that is bigger than
scarred by it's not about size
however if you go to big it's not going if it can
a but this one has actually it but I'm gonna
in regular business card size case and then you
run the risk that the person you gave it to you not keeping it
house it doesn't fit care business card holder
now you may ask why not just order business cards
I definitely agree I have order business cards from a graphic designer and that
can cost up
a lot of money but it's not that much let's say you know a hundred dollars is
not that much for
business cards
however I find myself wanting to change my business cards really often
because I just go in so many different directions and then
like right now I'm really into posting stuff on Instagram
n these business cards I didn't even know anything about Instagram I thought
that was just
sharing pictures at your family cell by the way I'm heaney
DIY on Instagram so that's not even on this card so I wish I could reprint is
but I have
I'm
so I will compare the cards that I've made from
this two-pronged and then another company that I really like called
overnight prints I make the whole nother video about those
so why not just use these well for one thing I
have to place home now
or I suddenly want Instagram or sunlight
want to just change the whole look actually I really want now is
heaney DIY information on the front and he mean girl information on the back
so I'm just kind of all over the place I find myself wanting to change my
card quite often and so I like the idea of being able to
print up just couple doesn't have them and then when
when I have new information print up some more another reason to make your
own business cards is
when you're in a DIY kinder industry i guess im not an industry
but when what you do is kind of a handcrafted sort of thing
I feel like it's appropriate to have card it feels handcrafted
I'm all about do it yourself kinda stuff so I really want my business card
to be a DIY project however I don't want it feel like a little piece of trash it
somebody
we just throw out I wanna it to feel
like something they should keep at least until I get home to their computer and
they can look at my blog or look me up on YouTube
and so I'm going try to show you different tools that I've used that
will help achieve that which ones are good signs
which ones can cut through some decent material and what the different rating
of stars
so right now I'm just giving you an overview
up some other information you're gonna find in this series
because if I try to do it all in this patio the videos can be
minutes long
and no one's gonna watch that
a showy different dies what i doing don't like about them you can get some
great shapes in these
little wafer-thin dies but when it's closed off like this you can't line it
up as well
and it's definitely not capture any leather I can tell you that for sure
if you use these kinda dice in the final shape you like you can make
aim business card that is shaped by the flower
if you were in a girly industry order around I'm
this diet is the one that I found that came closest
to cutting out the business card size my perfect diet would be
one business card die looks like this
so I can line it up just right it's clear on the bottom
i cant lining up to exactly what I want to come out and put it through
not only have I not find found one in two inch by three and a half inch
it's clear not have anything found a diet is too
i three inches which is really a shame so here is
this guy right here and here's how it lines up to a business card it is two
inches wide
but it's a little less than three and a half inches long cell
I think that's acceptable so this is the best I've so far that I found that
simulates
business card and I used this to cut through
this leather if you're gonna cut out five hundred of them
I can't really say how long this would hold out
these are really super sturdy but that really putting it to the test
so I don't know if I just showed you are things that cut through with die like
this
cutters thick leather transport material
you know assists for Minnesota box heavy duty plastic
obviously super heavy cardboard it can easily cannot
and it can cut through plots a.m. guess I would put maybe five sheets
up heavy cardstock through it would cut through that no problem
African country leather can cut through a step cardstock
and then also like this happy plastic material from a three-ring binder
can cut through that he cut your fabric the challenge with
yes is that you're not going to be able to line it up
so when I was able to do it that list you know I'm sure you've seen that
example
I think his name is David sass and or something where he has a rubber stamp
so you could get a rubber stamp that either is giant like this and goes
of the edge and make it look intentional or you could get a natural rubber stamp
size
business card size rubber stamp or you could print on to Step
sticker paper and you could get this ticket half by eleven
and put it to your printer and
it's sticky on the other side the stuff is like my secret weapon
love the stuff it's awesome so it's twelve by twelve
you put it in your silhouette cameo and I just love that kraft paper lot
especially when you're in a DIY
type feel some these would make a really cute
business card however they're never exactly the right size
and that this could be really cute I got these for fairly cheap a Tuesday morning
if you're in cooking or some other kind of bullying are
jewelry type: industry this is kinda cute these little pear-shaped
ninth and the perfect thing is you can line it up exactly where you want it on
the paper
that we could print first and then cut it out
hurry to cut through heavy duty cardboard Hamidi cardstock yes
and you would think that this company
Spellbinders that's what these are a be able to just order a set like this that
exactly
business card size but good luck finding anyone who list
the exact dimensions every single die it's one of my pet peeves that they make
it so
difficult find out what the actual dimensions are
so these are really great for the way you can line them up
however they're not great when it comes to the thickness and then also I have
not found one thats exactly
business card size probably exists but they're just so
unhelpful when it comes to telling you dimensions your mind
so if you see something that says Alassane

Biggs Biggs Excel the
if you go to yday you can find it really cheap
under ten dollars apiece and you can ask them
four dimensions lap times I'll give you dimensions up the whole diet which is
like five and a half by
and what you really want is the dimensions and the cut-outs look for
it cuts or Allison
take cuts orders is six pigs physics original
ZX XXL Biggs Excel
are a great big long lines and I'll show you some others I'll show you and
the video I love my nice that I think could be useful
for business card size I'll talk about manual punches
and which ones it can do pretty decent job of cutting through some
heavy-duty cardstock because the thing is
even though you want to look and crafted you don't want to look cheap
if it feels cheap and looks flimsy it's not going to make a good first
impression
and that's where business cards all about account like it's a look and feel
like a pod
because that those felt like something collectible even though they were just
got a little
round cardboard calling kids hang on to them cuz they felt collectible
and that's kinda the idea of what I want to be able to do with
handmade card I wanted to have some
creative style to it but I don't want to look claims and cheap
refused to give the hand fractures is that you can just line up
exactly what you want and punch it up
and the same goes for if you have printed or rubber-stamped
something onto this you can line it up exactly and punch it out
when you're not going to get it off-center so where you need to do
